Website terms of use

These terms govern your use of cognatory.com, operated by Cognatory LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (“Cognatory,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

Informational purpose

The site provides general information about Cognatory. It is not legal, compliance, investment, or security advice, and it is not an offer or commitment to provide any product or service. Any engagement with Cognatory requires a separate written agreement.

Acceptable use

You may use the site only for lawful purposes. You may not interfere with its operation; attempt to bypass its security controls; introduce malicious code; access non-public systems or data without authorization; conduct activity that degrades service; or misrepresent your identity or affiliation with Cognatory.

Security testing is permitted only to the extent expressly authorized by our responsible disclosure policy. That policy controls if it conflicts with this section.

Intellectual property

The site and its original text, graphics, design, software, trademarks, and other content are owned by Cognatory or its licensors and are protected by applicable law. Subject to these terms, Cognatory grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive right to access the site for your own informational use. No other license is granted. Third-party names and marks belong to their respective owners.

Third-party services and links

The site may refer or link to third-party services. Cognatory does not control and is not responsible for their content, availability, or practices. A link does not imply endorsement.

Disclaimers

THE SITE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COGNATORY DISCLAIMS ALL EXPRESS, IMPLIED, AND STATUTORY WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY SECURE.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COGNATORY AND ITS MEMBERS, PERSONNEL, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SITE OR THESE TERMS.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Changes and availability

We may change or discontinue all or part of the site and may update these terms. The date above identifies the current version. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in these terms limits rights you may have under mandatory law in your place of residence.

If any provision is unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain effective. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
